Provisional Psychologist
Melissa Kerrigan is a Provisional Psychologist currently completing a Master of Clinical Psychology.
She brings an authentic, grounded, and collaborative approach to therapy, creating a non-judgemental environment where clients feel genuinely heard and supported as they explore their experiences and work towards the goals that matter to them.
Melissa approaches therapy as a partnership.
Her style is steady, thoughtful, and honest, offering clear guidance while helping clients make sense of what they’re going through. She works alongside clients to build the insight and skills that support
meaningful and lasting change in a way that feels clear, supportive, and aligned with their goals.
Her therapeutic style is shaped by years of experience as a crisis support worker, where she supported individuals through intense distress, uncertainty, and emotional overwhelm. This work strengthened her ability to stay calm under pressure, hold
space for difficult emotions, and help people find grounding and safety during
challenging moments.
She has also completed extensive training in suicide prevention, nonsuicidal selfinjury, domestic and family violence, crisis intervention,
and mental health first aid across diverse populations.
Melissa primarily uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and adapts her approach to suit each client’s needs, preferences, and goals. She welcomes clients from all backgrounds and identities and is committed to providing inclusive, culturally sensitive care. Her areas of interest include anxiety, low mood, traumarelated concerns, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions.
Above all, Melissa strives to help clients feel understood, supported, and empowered as they work towards meaningful.
